BENTON — Mr. Winford Earl Ham, age 74, of Benton, Ky., died Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at his residence in Benton, Ky.

Born June 25, 1938, in Gilbertsville, Ky., he was a retired HVAC Contractor and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. Mr. Ham served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne Lengfellner Ham; children, Patricia Lengfellner of Benton, Ky., Robert Ham and wife Kim of Benton, Ky., Letta Slawson and husband Troy of Benton, Ky; grandchildren, Blake Fountain and wife Hannah of Benton, Ky., Hayley Fountain of Benton, Ky., Codi Slawson of Benton, Ky, Brandi Slawson of Fremont, Neb., Tyler Slawson of Benton, Ky, Jeffrey Davis of Benton, Ky, Julie Davis of Benton, Ky; brother, Ralph Ham and wife Wanda of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters, Virginia Hancock and husband Jackie of Eddyville, Ky., Frances York Cope and husband Jimmie of Benton, Ky., Valetta Sirls and husband Doug of Benton, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Anthony Ham and Nettie (Lowery) Ham, and his stepmother, Elizabeth Ham; and brothers and sisters, Irene Smith, R.A. Ham, Louise Groenert, Rosie Sinkler, Charles Ham, Mildred Sue Filbeck, and Jean Youngblood.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Lee and Bro. Ralph Ham officiating. Interment will follow at Briensburg Cemetery.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Collier Funeral Home.
