Burnell Willett “Bunny” Vaughn, 96, of Paducah died Sunday, September 23, 2012, at 3:36 a.m. at Calvert City Convalescent Center. Bunny was of the Methodist faith, a Professional Musician, retired U.S. Mail carrier, Professional Artist, local muralist and a charter member of Paducah Area Painters Alliance. During residency in Oak Ridge, Tenn., Bunny was manager of City Nursery. Bunny was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law, and having family around was always a great pleasure.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia “Patty” Coakley and husband Doug of Calvert City, Ky; two grandchildren, Karen Lynn Coakley Long and husband Brett of North Salt Lake, Utah, Price Coakley and wife Rachael of Metropolis, Ill.; two brothers, Mason Hamilton Willett and wife Sarah of Evansville, Ind., and Gayle Willett of Pride, Ky; one sister-in-law, Dorothy “Dot” Willett of Pride, Ky.; eight great-grandchildren, Anthony, Brian, Hannah, and Issac Long of North Salt Lake, Utah, Jessica, Lauren, Madalynn, and Elise Coakley, all of Metropolis, Ill.; several nieces; and nephews.
Bunny was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Harold Vaughn; one daughter, Lynann Vaughn; parents, Davis Hamilton Willett and Goldie Agness West Willett; one brother, Eldon Willett; and an infant sister.
Services will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis, Ky. Burial will follow in Bordley-Pride Cemetery in Union County, Ky. Friends may call Saturday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and after 1:00 Saturday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis, Ky.
