PRINCETON — Michael Stevens Sr. of Princeton died Tuesday at Caldwell Medical Center.

He was a retired correctional officer with the Kentucky State Penitentiary and former guitarist with the Grand Ole Opry house band.

He is survived by two sons, Mike Stevens Jr., of Princeton and Darren Stevens of Eddyville; two daughters, Debbie Elimon of West Frankfort, Ill., and Cheyenne Asher of Princeton; one brother, Jerry Stevens of Momence, Ill.; one sister, Ellen Wharton of Hollywood, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Evitts Stevens. His parents were Gerald and Lillian Calcik Stevens.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with burial in Morse Cemetery in Caldwell County.
