CALVERT CITY — Mrs. Jane Smith, 88, of Calvert City, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City.

Born October 25, 1923, in Dunklin County, Missouri, she was retired from Western Baptist Hospital, where she worked as a nurse’s aide.

A dedicated and faithful Christian, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she will be greatly missed by her family and her church family at Calvert City Church of Christ.

She was the daughter of the late Ray Moxley and the late Myrtle (Kirkman) Moxley.

She is survived by one daughter, Janet L. Turner and husband Jerald of Benton; two sons, Ron Smith of Austin, Tx. and Mark D. Smith and wife Beverly of Ironton, Mo.; one son-in-law, Gurvey Jones of Calvert City; eight grandchildren, Christopher Martin of Benton, Jennifer Thacker and husband James of Ironton Mo., Jeremy Jones of Calvert City, Jason Jones and wife Crystal of Calvert City, Johnny Jones and wife Lenisa of Calvert City, Travis Smith of Columbia, Mo., Amanda Smith of Atlanta, and Crystal Goodson and husband Jeff of Clarksville, Tenn.; five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one great-great-granddaughter; and one sister, Carolyn Edwards of White Oak, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Leon Smith; one daughter, Suzanne Jones; one great-grandchild, Christopher M. Martin; two brothers, Jimmy Moxley and Dee Moxley; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Smith and Crissie Meredith.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Marshall County Memory Gardens.

Lance Cordle will officiate.

Interment will follow the service in Marshall County Memory Gardens of Benton.

Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
