Shirley Jean Clark, age 77, of Paducah went home to be with the Lord at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012, from Western Baptist Hospital.
Born in Graves County, Shirley was a graduate of Melber High School. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and retired from Florsheim Shoe Company. Shirley had also been active in the McCracken County Homemakers.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph E. Clark; three sons, Stephen Lynn Clark, Keith Alan Clark and Scott Clark, all of Paducah; along with three grandchildren, Tyler Chadwick Clark, Elizabeth Grace Clark and Hannah Nichole Clark. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mildred Hughes of Hickory and Peggy Hughes of Eddyville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley was preceded in death by one son, Larry Joe Clark; and two brothers, James Harold Hughes and Roy Neal Hughes. Her parents were Lee Roy Hughes and Neta Mae Hall, and stepfather was William E. (Buddy) Hall.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Berry and the Rev. Louis Brinker officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home, and from 12 noon until the funeral time of 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
