Sue Dale Wood, 66, of Paducah passed away at 6:09 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mrs. Wood enjoyed life, spending time with her loving family and friends. Rather it be camping and floating down Current River with friends, or gardening at home, Sue loved the outdoors. She had a great love for animals, especially horses and dogs. She also enjoyed cooking with her husband and family for the River City Rib Ticklers during Paducah’s B.B.Q. on the River. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Wood is survived by one daughter, Tracy Sommer and husband Wayne of West Paducah; three sons, Danny Wood of Paducah, Bobby Wood and Lisa of Paducah, and Randy Wood and wife Sheila of Paducah; five grandchildren, Alyssa Sommer, Dylan Sommer, Ashton Goff, Rebecca Cowgur, and Jayce Wood, all of Paducah; her dog, Angel; a sister-in-law, Jane Lovvo of Florida; several nieces and nephews, Kit Atkinson, Zane Atkinson and wife Sandy, Dana Chandler and husband Brad, and Brian White and wife Stacey, all of Paducah; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Rodney Nathaniel Wood; two brothers, William Atkinson and wife Charlene, and Gene White. Her parents were Dale J. and Katherine Anderson White.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
