CALVERT CITY — James W. Thomas, age 73, of Calvert City, died at 6:51 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

He was a founding member of the Calvert City Country Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Jill Thomas Chambers of Paducah; one son, Jeff W. and Candy Thomas of Calvert City; one brother, Philip and Joyce Thomas of Princeton; four sisters, Judi and Doug Stone of Eddyville, Jan Vernon of Princeton, Martha and Amos Wyatt of Princeton, Linda and Bill Cartwright of Smyrna, Tenn.; five grandchildren Andrew Brown of Murray, Abby and Skyler Whitt of Calvert City, Anna Chambers of Paducah, Logan Hodge of Calvert City, Cassidy Hodge of Calvert City, fourteen nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by a special friend LouElla Archer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow W. and Hazel Claxton Thomas; his wife Sue Wisdom Thomas; one daughter Susan Michelle Thomas; and one son Jon Dean Thomas.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Jim Ewing officiating.

Burial will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund P.O. Box 366 Calvert City, KY 42009.
