METROPOLIS, Ill. — Mrs. Maxine Martin, 74, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away at 11:45 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2012, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with the Rev. Louis W. Brinker officiating.
Burial will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 21 years, Ronald Martin; one daughter, Audrey Brown and Steve Evans of Metropolis, Ill.; three sons, Brent Lillie and wife Kim of Metropolis, Ill., Brian Lillie and wife Necia of Reidland, and Darrell Lillie and wife Lisa of Metropolis, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Blake Brown, Kirstan Lillie, Brooke Durham, Brandi Quint, Melissa Paul, and Matt Carlsen; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Terri Berry of South Carolina, Mary Ruth Renfro of Michigan, Debbie Gentry, Margaret Fowler, and Ruby Holland, all of North Carolina; two brothers, Gary Holt and Van Holt, both of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manley and Dossie Holt; and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening, September 16, 2012, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Brown, Blake Brown, Dustin Thompson, Matt Carlsen, Tom Durham, Jake Quint, and Buzz Paul.
