KEVIL — Marion Thomas Billington, 96, of Kevil died Thursday at his home.
He had worked as a general contractor and a supervisor for Stone & Webster Construction Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marines. He was a 63-year member of Trio 57 A.F.& A.M. in Rock Island, Ill., and member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Southern Illinois.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by one son, Marion Eugene Billington of Kevil; one brother, Burl Billington of Williston, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Brandi Billington Sims of Paducah; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie L. Troxell, and four brothers. His parents were Samuel Elmer and Edna Sheridan Billington.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Mo., with the Rev. Josh Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Dexter Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
