METROPOLIS, Ill. — Mrs. Hildreth Rae (Teague) Standridge, 93, of Metropolis, passed away at 4:50 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012, at Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home. Dr. Joe Buchanan will officiate. Burial will be in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Hildreth was a member of First Baptist Church in Metropolis where she attended the Faith Sunday School Class and was active in the Women’s Missionary Union. She was also a member of the White Shrine and enjoyed attending the Happy Hearts Senior Center. She was a retired payroll clerk, homemaker, and in her later years worked for the Green Thumb Program at Ft. Massac State Park.
Hildreth is survived by a daughter, Jo Ellyn Davis of Metropolis; stepdaughter, Dixie June Smith and husband Jeff W. of Austin, Tx.; granddaughters, Julie Davis of Brookport, Ill. and Jensen Davis of Champaign, Ill.; great-grandsons, Bryce and Cole Walker of Brookport, Ill.; four stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; niece, Brenda Griffith of Fairfield, Ill.; nephews, Brent Inglis of Grayville, Ill. and Gary Springer of San Francisco, Calif.
Hildreth was preceded in death by her parents, William Ray and Lou Ella (Henley) Teague; husband, Ralph Gipson Standridge; sisters, Marie Teague, Lela Springer, and Bessie Lee Inglis; brothers, Woodrow Teague, Laverne Teague, Cleo Teague; and a nephew, Ronnie Inglis.
Visitation will be held 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.
