GRAND RIVERS — Dorothy Howell, age 69, of Grand Rivers, Ky, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Lourdes hospital in Paducah, Ky. She was born September 17, 1942 in Lambert Mississippi.

She was a member of Grand Rivers Missionary Baptist Church and a retired Nurse’s Aide for Marshall County Hospital Long Term Care. She was a member of the Eastern Star #138.

She was the daughter of the late Robert E. Lee Sanders and the late Dorothy Pearl (Ramsey) Sanders.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest L. Howell, Grand Rivers, Ky; two daughters, Rhonda K. Henson and husband William Keith, Grand Rivers, Ky, Greathern Ann Howell, Grand Rivers, Ky; one Son, Joseph Ernest “Joe” Howell, Grand Rivers, Ky; Grand Children, Jason Eric Skinner, Iuka, Ky, Theresa Rene’ Warren, Benton, Ky, James Ryan Shelburn, Benton, Ky, Danielle Marie Howell, Jessica Rayanne Howell both of Cadiz, Ky; Great-Grandchildren, Zoe Skinner, Iuka, Ky, Tristan Warren, Benton, Ky, Austin Skinner, Iuka, Ky, Brennon Cole Warren, Benton, Ky; brothers, Jimmy Ray Sanders, “Billy” William Davis Sanders, Ricky Joe Sanders, Randy Clark Sanders, Robert Lee Sanders, Jr., Daniel Ernest Sanders; sisters, Sharon Francis Blanchard, Memphis, Tenn., and Shirley Renee’ Sexton, Arkansas; one cousin, Lucy Lavone Harris of Fla. also survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother: Mavis Cooksy Sanders; four brothers, Boyd Henry Sanders, Wallace Lee Sanders, Bobby Dale Sanders, Michael Darrell Sanders; one sister, Sandra Kay Sanders; one grandchild, Aaron Michael Skinner; and one great-grandchild: Jayden Nicole Warren.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, Ky.

Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 7, 2012, with Rev. Andrew Sexton and Rev. Mark Gill officiating.

Interment will follow at Iuka Cemetery, Iuka, KY.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
