MAYFIELD — Modean Bennett, 92, of Mayfield, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Lourdes hospital in Paducah. She was surrounded by her loving family. Her last moments were spent talking to family with her sharp mind intact. Modean was a member of the Knob Creek Church of Christ in Graves County. She was a homemaker and retired from Merit Clothing Company where she was a seamstress.

She is survived by her children, Linda Wilson and husband Charlie of Lone Oak, Jerry Bennett and wife Rebecca of Hickory, and Brenda Howell and husband Eric of Benton; her grandchildren, Greg Wilson and wife Mary of Mayfield, Roger Wilson and wife Sandra of Benton, Pam Anderson and the late Randy Anderson of Paducah, Mike Bennett of Mayfield, Heather Davis and husband Ron of Benton, and Katie Bennett of Hickory; her great-grandchildren, Roger D. Wilson, Rusty Wilson, Brittany (Justin Willett) Anderson, Wendy Anderson, Hadley Davis, Andrea Lane, Mike McClerkin, Steve Cheirs, Sean McClerkin and the late Brandon Lane and Richie McClerkin; and several nieces and nephews.

Modean was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, J.C. Bennett; her parents, Will and Allie Vincent Owens; brothers, Leroy, Merchie, Rupert and Gene Owens; and sisters, Irma Bynum and Gladys Stow Duron.

Services for Mrs. Modean Bennett will be held Wednesday, September 5th at 11 a.m. at Byrn Funeral Home with Steve Cochran officiating.  Burial will follow in Pinegar Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Wilson, Roger Wilson, Mike Bennett, Ron Davis, Rusty Wilson and Jerry Nelson. Friends may call on the family Tuesday, September 4th between the hours of 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
