CALVERT CITY, Ky. — Roy A. “Tony” Hovekamp, 82, of Calvert City passed away at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Lourdes Hospital.
Mr. Hovekamp was a longtime member of Rosebower Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a deacon. He was employed as an electrician for Marine Ways, and later served as a maintenance engineer for Jones Packing and Metzger packing company.
He is survived by his two sons, Neil Hovekamp and wife Beth of Paducah, and Mike Hovekamp and wife Frances of Benton; three grandchildren, Emily Hovekamp Cahen, Bryan Hovekamp, and Madelyn Hovekamp; one great-grandson, Easton Cahen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lawrence Hovekamp, two sisters, and six brothers. His parents were Andy and Maggie Belle Finley Hovekamp.
Funeral services for Mr. Hovekamp will be 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Kenneth Puckett officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation for Mr. Hovekamp will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012, at the funeral home.
