METROPOLIS, Ill. — Jerry Donald Whitis, 69, of Metropolis died Aug. 18 at his home.

Mr. Whitis was a retired mechanic.

Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Sikes of Paducah and Christina Felts of Carmel, Ind.; two sisters, LaDonna Nelson and Jane Ann Alton, both of Paducah; one brother, Truman Whitis of Mayfield, Ky.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. His parents were Herman and Murrell Whitis.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah. Burial will be in Spring Creek Church of Christ Cemetery in Graves County, Ky.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
