MAYFIELD — Norma Kathryn Barlow, 77, of Mayfield, an exceptional mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington from complications of surgery.

She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church and the Seekers Sunday School Class. She was a retired Mayfield City School teacher, who loved teaching children to read. Norma was an avid reader, golfer and tennis player. She graduated from Mayfield High School and Murray State University, where she ultimately attained 30 hours above her Master’s Degree.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Marc (Mester) Barlow of Louisville and Brad Barlow of Lexington; three precious grandchildren, Baly Barlow of Auburn, Ala., Kelsey Barlow of Louisville and Brandon Barlow of Lexington.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 37 years, Gene Barlow; and her parents, Norman and Rebecca McGee.

Services for Norma Kathryn Barlow will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Byrn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wes Fowler officiating.

Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
