GLENDALE, Ill. — David Bates, age 58, of Glendale, IL., passed away August 12, 2012, at his home.

He was born April 15, 1954, in St. Charles, MO. to the late Harvey and Helen (Wiggins) Bates. He married Sheila Dunn on June 22, 1995. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church and had strong Christian faith. After David’s accident in 1972, he finished high school then went on to college. He worked for Image Graphics in Paducah and in 1980 began operating his own printing business. He loved his family, drawing, photography, jokes, hunting, and fishing.

David is survived by his wife, Sheila Bates of Glendale; two sons, Albert (Adi) Williams of Paducah, Jay Bates of Simpson; daughter, Laura (Sam) McAllister of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Desi, David, Logan, Olivia, Chloe, Grace, and Jory; two brothers, Kerry (Pat) Bates of Minooka, IL., Darrel (Deanna) Bates of Grantsburg, and sister, Carol (Jim) Haesler of Aurora.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Burial will follow at Shedville Cemetery. The service will be conducted by Rev. Edd Bates. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2012, at the funeral home.
