SMITHLAND — Doris J. McDonald, 71, of Smithland, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mrs. McDonald was devoted to her family. She was a loving granny and enjoyed gardening and raking hay. She also had a great love of animals. She was member of Tiline First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Roger McDonald; her daughter, Benita L. Jones of Smithland; one brother, Hubert (Charlotte) Edmonds of Kansas City, MO.; one sister, Thelma (Clinton) Smith of Smithland; three grandchildren, Jordan (Clark) O’Brien of Tiline, Chase Lant of Smithland, and Carsyn Jones of Smithland; one great-grandchild, Cinch O’Brien of Tiline, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Edmonds and Cooter Edmonds. Her parents were Gene and Rebith Edmonds.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland with Bro. Encil Edmonds officiating. Burial will follow at Leeper Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
