MURRAY — Services for Fred Schultz, 89, of Murray will be at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Murray. John Dale and Bill Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Murray City Cemetery.

Mr. Schultz died Sunday in Louisville.

He earned degrees from Murray State and Peabody College. He retired from Murray Independent School district as a teacher and high school principal and also served as superintendent for 15 years. He also worked for the Kentucky Department of Education and as a consultant with Kentucky School Board Association.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of First Baptist Church of Murray and former president of the Murray Lions Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Selwyn Parker of Louisville; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Crass Schultz, and two sisters. His parents were Fred T. and Louise Lewis Schultz.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the church.

J.H. Churchill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
