BARDWELL — Rachel Jennings Johnson, 97, of Bardwell, passed away 10 a.m. Monday, August 23 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.
She was the oldest member of Mississippi Baptist Church of Bardwell.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Pat Johnson of Clinton; three grandchildren, Patti Mullins and husband Terry of Clinton, Stephanie Banks and husband Richard of Homewood, Ala., and Terry Johnson and wife Christi of Memphis, Tenn.: three great-grandchildren, Jenny Green and husband Josh of Jacksonville, N.C., Sergeant Ryan Mullins, currently serving in the US Marines in Jacksonville, NC., and Aaron Banks, currently a student at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.; three great-stepgrandchildren, Alex, Davis, and Nicholas Tooley of Memphis, Tenn.; two nieces, Kay Hodges and husband Hugh of St. Louis, and Sue Thomason and husband Bennett of Bardwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lee and Cecil Terry Jennings; a sister, Dorothy Campbell; her husband, Rev. Randol Johnson; a daughter, Shirley Ann Diffee; and a son, Ray Terry Johnson.
Services will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell at 1 p.m. Thursday. August 16 with the Rev. Mark Burnett officiating with burial following at Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Thursday ’til service time.
