HICKMAN — Dorothy W. Chapman, 99, of Paducah (a native of Fulton) passed away at 2:50 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012, at Superior Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.
Mrs. Chapman worked in administration at Illinois Central Railroad for 33 years and was a member of Paducah First Baptist Church since 1941. She attended Murray State University and Blue Mountain Women’s College, where she enjoyed performing as a talented pianist.
She is survived by her two sons, Barry B. (Donna) Chapman of Paducah and Herbert S. (Denise) Chapman of Paducah; one brother, John A. Williams of Chicago; three grandchildren, Susan “Beth” Chapman of Washington, D.C., Herbert S. (Sherri) Chapman Jr. of Franklin, Tenn., and Steven Curtis (Mary Beth) Chapman of Franklin, Tenn.; ten great-grandchildren, Paul Chapman, Rachel Chapman, Andrew Chapman, Tommy Chapman, Leah Rose Chapman, Caleb (Julia) Chapman, Will Franklin Chapman, Shaohannah Chapman, Stevey Joy Chapman and Emily (Tanner) Richards; and one great-great-grandchild, Eiley Eliza Richards, all of Franklin, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert W. and Rosamond Latta Williams; two brothers, Herbert L. Williams and Charles H. Williams; and one great-grandchild, Maria Sue Chapman.
Services will be held Noon Monday, August 13, 2012, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2012, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
