MOUND CITY, Ill. — Gloria H. Hudson, 85, of Mound City died Monday at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ, past president of the Mound City Women’s Club, and served on the board of directors of the Mound City Public Library.

She is survived by her husband, Ira J. Hudson III; a son, I.J. Hudson IV of Darnestown, Md.; a daughter, Cherri Hudson-Brown of Las Cruces, N.M.; a brother, Stanley Hayden of Cairo; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by a son in infancy. Her parents were Fred and Blanche Leidigh Hayden.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City with Larry Potts officiating. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Parkinson’s research, or Mound City or Cairo public libraries.
