HODGENVILLE — Jane Jones Grubbs of Hodgenville, Kentucky, went to be with her Lord at 10:50 p.m. on August 2, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Paducah, Kentucky on December 24, 1954, to William Robert and Mary Linn Jones, who preceded her in death.
Jane retired from Bell South/ATT in Paducah and Louisville after 34 years of service. She was then employed by First Federal Savings Bank of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Jane loved people, horses, and was an avid UK fan. She served as State Secretary of the Kentucky High School Rodeo Association. She was a member of Nolynn Baptist Church of Hodgenville.
Jane is survived by her devoted husband, Montie Grubbs; son, Sean O’Donley (Krisi), and grandson, Tyler O’Donley of Elizabethtown; daughter, Stephanie Wallace of Clarksville, TN; stepdaughter, Valary Grubbs of Clarksville, IN; brothers, Robert Linn Jones (Macie) of Paducah and Tom Jones (Ladonne) of Leesburg, FL; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Poppy Jones of Gilbertsville, KY.
Jane fought a two-year battle with melanoma cancer while sharing her faith with those she met during these times.
She donated her body to science hoping this would help doctors find a cure for others.
A memorial service will be held August 11, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Nolynn Baptist Church, Hodgenville, KY. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Nolynn Baptist Church, the American Cancer Society, or Hosparus of Central Kentucky.
