Bea Curtis Gibson Chester, 92, of Paducah, Ky. passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Superior Care Home of Paducah. She was born in Cunningham, Ky. She was retired from Paducah Printing Company as a bookkeeper. Bea was a member of First Christian Church for 50 plus years. Bea was a 65-year member of the Clara Henrich Chapter #424 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She has served as president of the West Kentucky Order of the Eastern Star, Past Matron and past Patron’s Club-Clara Henrich Chapter, American Business Women’s Club and Matinee Music club. Served as Deputy Grand Matron 1966-1967, Grand Marshal 1967-1968, served as Worthy Matron six different terms and was the Grand Representative to Colorado for the Eastern Star. Bea also worked at Clausner Hosiery Mill, the State of California, Sears Auditing Department, and Aetna Finance. Bea received 17 Honorary Memberships when she served as Deputy Grand Matron including Duchess of Paducah and Kentucky Colonel.

Bea is survived by her stepson, Jimmy Gibson of Marietta, Ga.; two stepgrandchildren and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Joe and Betty Wallace of Gilbertsville, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fulton O. Gibson; her second husband, Orville Chester; four sisters and three brothers. Her parents were Vard Curtis and Lola Mae Carrigan Curtis.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Linda Creason and the Rev. Jae Gottman officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2012, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home.
