CADIZ — Services for Almont Dawson Jr., 83, of Herndon will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Roaring Springs Christian Church. The Rev. Jim Hazelrigg will officiate. Burial will be in Dawson Family Cemetery in Herndon.

Mr. Dawson died Tuesday at his home.

He was a farmer and an elder of Roaring Springs Christian Church, and member of Christian County Gideon Camp.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Dawson; two sons, Bobby Dunbar and Bruce Dunbar, both of Hopkinsville; two daughters, Teresa Burks of Hopkinsville and Sherry Allen of Herndon; one brother, Charles Dawson of Herndon; two sisters, Mary Agnes Gaylord of Greenville, N.C., and Betsy Wall of Hopkinsville; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Almont Dawson Sr. and Agnes Dawson; and one sister.

Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. today at the church.

Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz is in charge of arrangements.
