Marie Ragland Walker, 82, of Paducah, died peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Kevil and was surrounded by her loving family.
Marie was born in Gadsden, Alabama on March 14, 1930. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church and had worked as a teller at Peoples Bank and a clerk at Hancock Fabrics. She was a tailor and seamstress and enjoyed ballroom dancing.
Surviving are three children, Cheri Smith of Kevil, Richard (Kathy M.) Ragland, and Roger Ragland, all of Louisville; grandchildren, Nannette Williams, Patrick Beeler, Michelle Beeler, and Justin Andreason; great-grandchildren, Martez Williams, Teesheona Williams, Onevis Williams, and Serenity Stigall, and a brother, Richard Lassiter.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of their children, Eugene Ragland; her second husband, Omar Walker, and a grandson, Daniel Williams. Her parents were Eugene Garrett and Nannie Mae Helm Bray.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. There will be no visitation. Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
