CADIZ — Carey Wayne Pearcy, 88, of Cadiz died Friday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.
He was a retired deputy chief of the uniform division of the Kenosha, Wisc., Police Department. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II in the South Pacific, a member of the American Legion and of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Joan Pearcy; two sons, Patrick K. Pearcy of North Charleston, S.C., and Timothy J. Pearcy of Cadiz; two brothers, Kenneth C. Pearcy of Eddyville and Olin Mosley Pearcy of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; three sisters, Audrey A. Pearcy of Kuttawa, Patricia A. Alsobrook of Princeton and Felicia M. Bostain of Hopkinsville; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Clyde Thomas Pearcy and Julia Ann Lacy Pearcy.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at King’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
