GILBERTSVILLE — Carol Ann Farnum, 74, of Gilbertsville died Monday at McCracken Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She retired from Westville Junior High School in Westville, Ill., as a language arts teacher, and as the coach of the girl’s basketball and volleyball teams.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law. Her parents were Charles Guthrie and Emma Cox Guthrie.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Farnum; one daughter, Melissa Duncan of Dexter; one sister, Rosemary Burmeister of Bismarck, Ill.; two brothers, Tim Guthrie of New Mexico and Jack Guthrie of San Antonio, Texas, and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Brian Brophy officiating. Burial will be in McDaniel Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
