CALVERT CITY — William E. Ford, 82, of Calvert City died at 6:44 a.m. Friday at Western Baptist Hospital.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired as a mechanical engineer from Pennwalt. He was a member of Calvert City United Methodist Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Metzger of Calvert City; two grandsons, Sean Patrick O’Neal of Gilbertsville and Evan Daniel O’Neal of Murray; one sister, Helen Ford King of Florence, Ala., and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Florence Rowe, and two brothers. His parents were Doplus Lee Ford and Mary Florence Rowe Ford.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Filbeck-Cann and King Funeral Home and Crematory in Benton. Lynn Jones will officiate, and burial will follow at Calvert City Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
