BENTON — Barbara Ann Canup, 78, of Benton died Thursday at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

She was a long-time member of Owens Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Johnny Canup of Reidland, Tim Canup of Wadesboro and Tom Canup of Dexter; one daughter, Debra Overby of Benton; three brothers, Rufe P. Burkeen Jr. of Dexter, Edison Burkeen of Hardin and James Ronald Burkeen of Murray; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Canup, and a brother. Her parents were Rufe P. Burkeen Sr. and Winne Lovett Burkeen.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Heritage Family Funeral Home with Jimmy Stom officiating. Interment will follow in Gore Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
