CADIZ — Thomas Patterson “T.P.” Sholar, 82, of Cadiz died Thursday at his home.

He taught at New Hope School in Trigg County, served in the Korean War, was a librarian in the Trigg County school system and taught at Murray State University. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by one brother, Belmont Sholar of Hopkinsville; one nephew, Keith Sholar of Hopkinsville; one niece, Marsha Bourne of Hopkinsville; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by one sister. His parents were William Clifton Sholar and Lonnie Mae Sowell Sholar.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Revs. Mark Thweatt and Don Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at Flat Lick Cemetery in Christian County. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
