MURRAY — James Carlton Moody, 83, of Murray died Sunday at his home.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 31 years of service and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He owned and operated Moody Mower Repair. He was a member of Temple Hill United Methodist Church and VFW Post 6291.
Survivors include four daughters, Teresa Gilson and Angie Crouse, both of Murray, Sandra Halter of Mayfield and Sandy Barnes of Farmington; two sons, Joe Futrell and Barry Futrell, both of Murray; one sister, Marybelle Russell of Dover, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Robbie Outland Moody; his second wife, Priscilla Johnson Moody; his third wife, Ruby Bizzell Moody; his son, Michael Moody; and one brother. His parents were Kelsey and Odie Champion Moody.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Revs. Howard Welch and Kerry Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Hicks Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
