BROOKPORT, Ill. — Truman Emerson, 74, of Brookport, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at his residence.

Mr. Emerson was the retired lockmaster of Dam 52&53 and was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a 50-year member of the Farmers Lodge 232 of the F&AM in Brookport. His hobby was harness racehorses.

Surviving are one daughter, Leigh Ann (Jim) Kepner of Paducah; one brother, Harley (Janet) Emerson of Golconda; one granddaughter, Whitney Shankle of Paducah; his stepfather, Ellis Reynolds of Brookport, and several nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Emerson and Helen Reynolds.

Memorial services will be planned at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Kitchen in Paducah.

Cremation Society of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
