GILBERTSVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Bob Scott of Gilbertsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception Saturday at Green Turtle Bay Resort in Grand Rivers. A trip to Ireland is also planned.

Mr. Scott and the former Mary Angeline Whittinghill were married July 7, 1962, by the Rev. Fred Clemons at First Church of God in Bloomington, Ill. Their attendants were David Scott and Jeannie Whittinghill Crutcher.

Mr. and Mrs. Scott are retired poultry farmers. Mrs. Scott is also a former OB tech at St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington, Ill., and EKG tech at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. Mr. Scott also retired from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad.

Mrs. Scott is the daughter of the late Alvin and Mildred Whittinghill. Mr. Scott is the son of the late Frank and Bernice Scott.

They have six children: Sheri Swatzell of Hickory, Angie Braboy  of Kevil, Robert Scott of Escondido, Calif., Davy Scott of Mayfield, Mary Erwin of Hazel and Christine Kwan of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; one deceased grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
