The Rev. Dr. Billy N. Williams, 82, of Madisonville, Ky., passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Owensboro Medical Health Systems in Owensboro, Ky.
Billy was born November 7, 1929, in Owingsville, Ky., to the late Kenneth and Violet Bailey Williams. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Alice Frayley, and two brothers, Joe Williams and Kenneth Shirley Williams.
Dr. Williams was West Area Minister for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for 23 years, serving congregations in the 40 western most counties of the state. He served resident pastorates at Benton, Ky., and Nortonville, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Rayburn Williams; daughter, Gina (Tony) Munger of Madisonville; brother, Phillip (Louise) Williams of Austin, Texas; grandson, Anthony (Beth) Munger of Madisonville; two great-grandchildren, Aaron Munger and Anna Munger, both of Madisonville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Don McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville, and after 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
