“Prometheus”
Thinking they found a key to the beginnings of mankind in space, a team of researchers set off a chain of events that could lead to the end of the world.
The buzz: As the release date got closer, my anticipation level has gone up. The movie is a prequel to the “Alien” movies, and the cast and effects are just enough to please both the die-hards and the casual action buff.
Showing at: Cinemark
Length: 124 minutes
3-D show times: 1:20 p.m., 4:10 p.m. 7 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted”
The crew ventures to Europe, where they must join a circus that is headed for their true home, America.
The buzz: I love these movies, and I am a grown-up. The voices are hysterical, the jokes are worth it. As a kid movie goes, this one is definitely worth sitting through.
Showing at: Cinemark

3-D show times: 12:20 p.m., 2:40 p.m., 5 p.m, 7:20 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”
A group of retirees heads to India for a retirement home that isn’t as glorious as the advertisements said it would be.
The buzz: Everyone who has seen the movie in Paducah said it is worth it, and those who haven’t seen it have heard the buzz. It’s funny and heartwarming, and Maiden Alley has seen fit to play it for a third straight week, so go check it out.
