LEDBETTER — Katherine L. Edmonds slipped from the hands of her family into the hands of the Lord at 8:06 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at her home.
Mrs. Edmonds, 89, of Ledbetter, was retired from Florsheim Shoe Company of Paducah. She was a former member of American Legion Post #31 and VFW Post #1191 of Paducah. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one son, James Craig Edmonds; two daughters, Patsy Edmonds Coovert and husband Mike, and Pam Edmonds Whitfill and husband John, all of Ledbetter; one brother, Freeman Finnie and wife Martha of Brooksville, Florida; five grandchildren, Ralph Chambers Jr., Ronda Louise Chambers, James Craig Edmonds Jr., Christie Michelle Edmonds and James Robert Aaron Edmonds; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. (Blackie) Edmonds; one sister, Raylene Edmonds, and her parents, Raymond and Fern Barger Finnie.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Encil Edmonds and Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Edmonds Cemetery in Smithland.
Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
