Mr. and Mrs. John Waggoner of Paducah recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and a surprise party and dance with friends and family at the Irvin Cobb Hotel hosted by their children. The couple also took a trip to Rome, Italy, and a Mediterranean cruise.
Mr. Waggoner and the former Judy A. Baldree were married March 21, 1962, by the Rev. Louis Joiner at First United Methodist Church in Mayfield. Their attendants were Norma Pearl Stewart and Odelle Joiner.
Mrs. Waggoner retired from the McCracken County Board of Education as a teacher at Lone Oak Elementary School with 32 years’ service. She is the daughter of the late Dorothy Morrow and the late G.B. Baldree.
Mr. Waggoner retired from the Graves County Board Education. He is a former teacher and coach in Brookport, Ill., Heath High School and Lone Oak High. He served as an assistant principal at Heath High School and principal at Graves County Middle School. He is the son of the late John “Tige” and Jane Byrn Waggoner.
They have three daughters: Stephanie Guisinger of Indianapolis, Tammy McKinney of Lone Oak and Johnna Puryear of Lone Oak; and eight grandchildren.
