Janel Lyn McGill and Charles Kirkland Tate V were united in marriage Dec. 17 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Paducah with Corey Aker officiating. Music was provided by Debbie Reagor, organist. Scripture readers were Krissy Milford and McCall Milford of Paducah.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Julie McGill of Fairfield, Ill., and Danny and Arleda Hill of Fairfield.

The groom is the son of Charles “Kirk” Tate of Paducah and the late Kaye Tate.

The bride chose her sisters, Mrs. Jamie Pruitt of Nashville, Tenn., and Miss Laura McGill of Fairfield, as her matron of honor and bridesmaid. Miss Jesalyn Pruitt, daughter of Jarrod and Jamie Pruitt of Nashville, Tenn., served as flower girl.

The groom chose Jay Hiett of Evansville, Ind., as his best man. Chris Milford of Paducah served as groomsman. Ushers were Forrest Milford of Paducah and Jarrod Pruitt. Atherton Milford of Paducah was the candlelighter.

A reception followed. Servers were Caroline Switzer, Hilda Womble, Patti Pearson and Carolyn Wiley, all of Paducah.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Fairfield Community High School in Fairfield and earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication in 2007 from Murray State University in Murray. She is employed by State Farm-Bohanon Agency in Paducah.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Heath High School and attended Paducah Community College. He is employed by the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center.

They reside in Paducah.
