ST. LOUIS — Dr. Catherine Laska and Luke Patrick Cairney were united in marriage Aug. 20 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in St. Louis with the Rev. Tom Wyrsch officiating. Music was provided by Peter Hesed, pianist; Aaron and Emily Schlitz, vocalists; Emily Rockers, violinist; and Mike Karpowicz, woodwinds.

The bride is the daughter of Gerald Laska and Wanda Mohatt of Cheyenne, Wyo.

The groom is the son of Patrick and Anna Cairney of Paducah.

The bride chose her sister, Miss Claire Laska of Sunnyside, Wash., as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Madeline Cross of Dubuque, Iowa, sister of the groom; and Dr. Tina Rose Bosslet of St. Louis. Miss Elyse Cairney, daughter of Nate and Turi Cairney of Flagstaff, Ariz., served as flower girl. Ringbearer was Dillon McHenry, son of Anne and Matt McHenry of Denver.

The groom chose Nate Haug of Berkeley, Calif., as his best man. The groom’s brothers, Nathaniel Cairney of Flagstaff and Jeremy Cairney of Aurora, Ill., served as groomsmen. Serving as ushers were Ryan Hellmer of Tecumseh, Kan., J.P. Price of Kansas City, Thomas Szott of Cheyenne and Jeremy Voss of San Antonio.

A reception followed at Windows on Washington in St. Louis.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Cheyenne Central High School, a 2005 graduate of Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., and a graduate of St. Louis University Medical School. She is completing her residency at St. Mary Hospital in St. Louis.

The groom is a 2001 graduate of Maur Hill Prep School in Atchison, Kan., and a 2005 graduate of Benedictine College in Atchison with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He is employed by St. Louis University as the financial aid coordinator.

The couple reside in St. Louis.
