MAYFIELD — Mr. and Mrs. James H. Shelby of Mayfield will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 18 at Northside Church of Christ fellowship hall in Mayfield. All friends and relatives are invited. The couple request no gifts.

Mr. Shelby and the former Carolyn June Jones were married Dec. 17, 1961, by Larry Hood at Pottsville Church of Christ. Their attendants were Buddy Shelby and Betty Jones.

Mrs. Shelby is a retired tax preparer. She is the daughter of the late Walter O. and Louise Jones.

Mr. Shelby is retired from Continental General Tire. He is the son of the late Hubert and Ethel Shelby.

They have three children: Darren C. Shelby of Lowes, LeNisha C. Flatt of Mayfield and Dan W. Shelby of Phoenix, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.
