LEXINGTON — Ron and Jean (Cummins) Rister of Lexington, formerly of Paducah, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary September 9-11, 2011.

Their daughter, Paula Mullican of West Paducah and husband, Jeff; son, Paul Rister of Murray and wife, Lisa; and son, Brad Rister of Lexington and wife, Lauren, arranged a surprise weekend for the entire family at Dale Hollow Lake State Park. Various activities included hiking, an afternoon picnic and games, miniature golf and fishing. The day ended with an anniversary dinner in a decorated State Park dining room, followed with a video prepared by their children showing scenes of their parents after meeting at the University of Kentucky, their wedding and their lives through the next 50 years with children and grandchildren.

After the trip to Dale Hollow, Ron took Jean to Venice, Italy, for three days and a 24-day Mediterranean cruise with stops on various Greek Islands, Sicily, Italy and Spain.

Ron and Jean have seven grandchildren, Kristin Mullican and Sarah Mullican, both of West Paducah; Nathan Rister, Aaron Rister and Jacob Rister, all of Murray; and William Rister and Addie Rister, both of Lexington.

God has blessed them with 50 years of a wonder marriage.
