BENTON — Valetta Jo Locke, 86, of Benton died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday at her granddaughter’s home.

Mrs. Locke was a veteran of the U.S. Army. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Oak Park, Ill.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Jo Mays of Benton; one son, Wallace Locke of Carol Stream, Ill.; one brother, William Wallace of Miami; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Hamby; her second husband, Donald Locke; and one sister. Her parents were William Otis Wallace and Mary Bone Wallace.

Services will be at noon Monday at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home and Crematory. Jonathan Goodman will officiate. Burial with military rites will follow at Marshall County Memory Gardens.
