BENTON — Mr. and Mrs. Wavel Maddox of Benton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Baptist Church Mission Center in Benton. All friends and relatives are invited. The couple requests no gifts.

Mr. Maddox and the former Margaret Ann Scillion were married Sept. 30, 1961, by the Rev. Elmer Collins at Lakeview Baptist Church.

Mrs. Maddox is a retired real estate agent. She is the daughter of the late Floyd and Pearle Scillion.

Mr. Maddox is retired from GTE Telephone Co. He is the son of the late Burnice and Vena Maddox.

They have three children: Randy Maddox and Barry Maddox, both of Benton, and Shane Maddox of San Francisco; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
