SMITHLAND — Robert T. “Bobby” Williams, 83, of Smithland passed away Thursday at the Christian Care Center of Kuttawa.
Mr. Williams was a retired road worker with the state highway department and a member of Smithland First Baptist Church. He was a member of Masonic F and AM Lodge 138 of Smithland and was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Virginia Williams; two brothers-in-law, Fred New of Eddyville and Ralph New of Henderson; three sisters-in-law, Becky Brindley of Smithland, Stella Potts of Tiline and Grace Tincher of Greencastle, Ind.; three nieces, Debbie Esch of Hopkinsville, Jill Smith of Smithland and Lynn Rodgers of Mesa, Ariz.; three nephews, Glenn New of Smithland, Darrell New of Boaz and Josh Dae of Mesa, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lillian Melton Williams; two brothers, Ben Moss and Edward Scarborough; one sister, Grace Chestnut and one niece.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Cothran Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Monday until the funeral hour at the funeral chapel.
