Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bowland of Paducah announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Rose Bowland, to Mark James Sanders, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sanders of Barlow.

Miss Bowland is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Bailey, and the late Mr. and Mrs. O.J. Bowland. She is a 1992 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations in 1996 from Murray State University, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She is employed by the Tennessee Medical Association in Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. Sanders is the grandson of Mrs. Ida Ray Nagel of Paducah and the late Ralph Nagel, and the late Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Sanders. He is a 1989 graduate of Ballard Memorial High School in Barlow and earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health in 1994 from Murray State University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

An August wedding is planned.
