KEVIL — Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Vail of Kevil will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday.

Mr. Vail and the former Helen Elizabeth “Betty” Ready were married June 30, 1946, by the Rev. C.V. Tolley at Main Street Methodist Church in Alton, Ill. Their attendants were Verdel Hanner and Alice Purcell.

Mrs. Vail is the daughter of the late Raymond Ready and the late Martha Hill Ready.

Mr. Vail is a retired instrument mechanic for GAF in Calvert City. He is the son of the late Hugh DeCalvis Vail and the late Alma Loreen Book Vail.

They have four children: James Alan Vail of Elizabethtown, Raymond Hugh Vail of Sullivan, Ill., Richard Kent Vail of Burlington, Wis., and Cheryl Beth Vail Rambo of Boaz; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
