Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wood of Mayfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Jill Katherine Wood, to Robert Matthew Ellison, son of Mary Ann Ellison of Mayfield and Daniel Ellison of Cadiz.

Dr. Wood is the granddaughter of Zellica Hord of Mayfield and the late Louis Hord, and Jimmy and Carolyn Wood of Farmington. She is a 1998 graduate of Graves County High School in Mayfield. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 2002 from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green and a doctor of pharmacy degree in 2006 from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, Ala. She is employed by Hospital Corporation of America in Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. Ellison is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. Ellison of Williamston, S.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Smith. He is a 1995 graduate of Mayfield High School and a 1999 graduate of Murray State University with a degree in ag business. He is self-employed.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 4 p.m. Dec. 4 at Madison Hall in Paducah.
