GOLF: The Benton Golf and Country Club is accepting tee times for its Men's Two-man tournament to be held on August 16-17. For information call the club at 270-527-9673 or visit the club's website at bentoncountryclub.net.

SOFTBALL: Tryouts for a 10-under softball team will take place at Lone Oak ballpark on August 16 from 9 a.m. to noon (rainout date-August 17 from 2 to 5 p.m.)  Seeking interested girls with 2004 birthdays. For information, please e-mail: suddenimpactsoftballky@yahoo.com

BASEBALL: The Murray-Calloway Co. Parks and Recreation Department is accepting entries for a fall adult (18-over) recreational co-ed slowpitch softball league.  The league will be governed by NSA rules with a few local modifications and is limited to the first 12 teams to enter.  Season starts on September 2 and runs through October 26 with a 10-game regular season and post-season double-elimination tourney.  Team entry fee is $425.  Call the MCC Parks at 270-762-0325 or email tab.brockman@murrayparks.org to register or for additional information.

GOLF: Oaks Country Club will host a dour-person scramble to benefit the Kentucky Sheriff's Boys and Girls Ranch on September 18. Entry fee is $60 per player or $240 per team with an 8 a.m. siren start. For further information, call the ranch at 270-362-8660 or the club at 270-753-6454.

GOLF: Metropolis Country Club will host its annual 2-Couple Scramble on August 16 and 17.  The tournament will have a shotgun start each day at 10 a.m.  Entry fee is $220 per team.  Entry forms can be obtained at: www.metropoliscountryclub.net/Events.php or contact Lee Chidress at 681-524-4414.

SOFTBALL: Tryouts for the Lady Pride 12-under softball team will take place August 16 and 23 at 9 a.m. each day at the City-County Park in Princeton. For further information, call 270-519-9029.

GOLF: Kenny Perry and Russ Cochran will host their annual Tour Players Charity Scramble to benefit Paxton Park and Junor Golf on September 9 at Paxton Park. Entry fee is $150 per player. Each player gets two rounds of golf, a clinic hosted by Perry and Cochran, lunch catered by Texas Roadhouse, a chance at a $10,000 hole-in-one plus other hold pprizes. Clinic starts at 10 a.m. with lunch at 11 a.m. and golf at noon. Entry forms are available at the Paxton Park Pro Shop.

BOWLING: The Paducah Women's Bowling Association will hold their first meeting of the 2014-15 season on August 17 at 3 p.m.  at Cardinal Lanes Strike and Spare.

GOLF: Oak Hill Country Club will host the Kings of the Hill two-man scramble on August 16-17. Entry fee is $120 per team with shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. For further information, call Oak Hill Country Club at 270-653-6001 or Trent Johnson at 270-254-1091.

GOLF: The Banterra Bank Greater Paducah Amateur Championships will take place August 16-17 at Paxton Park. Entry fee is $95 and forms are available at the pro shop. For further information, call 270-444-9514.

GOLF: The Ballard County Country Club's Ladies Golf Association will host a ladies invitational tournament on August 12 at 9 a.m. This is individual play and the entry fee is $30.  For further information, call the BCCC proshop at 270-665-5557 or Barbara Chandler at 270-334-3166.

GOLF: The Oaks Country Club will host the Calloway County Charity Golf Scramble on September 18. It will be a four-person scramble with an entry fee of $60 per person or $240 per team. For further information, call 270-753-6454.
