Plea entered:

A plea agreement has been reached in the capital murder case against Ryan Champion, an Oak Grove man accused of conspiring in a murder-for-hire scheme that resulted in the deaths of his mother, father and sister in Oct. 2014, and killing his accomplice. Champion pleaded guilty to three counts of complicity to murder, one count of murder and one count of kidnapping. For more details see Friday's edition of The Sun

Tornado breaks even with McCracken

In the first inning, Miles Butler had an RBI single and Caleb Farley sacrificed another run in as Paducah Tilghman avenged an earlier home loss by downing McCracken County 2-0 at Edward Jones Field on Tuesday in high school baseball.

Jacob Underhill struck out nine Mustangs and walked none for the win. Cole Womack fanned five Tornado batters and walked three in the loss. The pitchers belted the only doubles in the game.

Livingston Central 10, Trigg County 0 (6 inn.) - At Smithland, Livingston Central cruised to a 10-0 win over Trigg County in six innings Tuesday.

The Lady Cardinals were paced by pitcher Caitlin Merritt, who struck out 15 and walked none in the victory.

Livingston Central scored three in the bottom of the first, then tacked on four in the bottom of the fourth, one in the bottom of the sixth and won it with two in the bottom of the sixth.

For the Lady Cardinals, Emily Dalton went  4-for-4 with 2 RBIs, Hailee Lampley went 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs, and Tiffany Padon went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs.
