Graves takes two with wood bats

Staff report

At Mayfield, Graves County downed two more teams at its Dinger Bats Wood Bats Classic. First, Clayton Carrico singled to center with two on and two out in the bottom of the sixth to score Peyton Puckett with the winning run in a 4-3 victory over Daviess County. Carrico and Tanner Smith were both 2 for 3 for the Eagles while Zack Burton was 3 for 4 for the Panthers.

The second game was a bit more decisive: a 6-3 win over Evansville (Ind.) Mater Dei. Smith and Eamon Hannan both went 2 for 3 with Smith driving home two runs and Hannan pitching the first three innings.
